Anime North 2013

Posted by on May 24, 2013

Really excited to head back to Anime North tomorrow. Last year, we shot some spectacular costumes, so the bar is set high.

This year, we’ve also sponsored the masquerade. We’re giving away a Premium Location Shoot to the winner of Best in Show, as well as some Convention Quick-Shoots to the winners from other divisions. Be sure to check out the rest of the prizes for the masquerade.

We’re prepared…

Prepare for trouble...

We’re really excited to be attending Anime North for the first time this year. It’s kind of the cosplay Mecca of Canada, and I expect to see some really stellar costumes.

The CONVOKE photo booth will be set up in Photo Alley along with a bunch of other talented photographers. Be sure to stop by and get your picture taken.

Wizard World Toronto Wrap Up

Posted by on April 26, 2012

It was our first year doing Wizard World Comic Con, and we saw some truly excellent costumes in just two days. We’ve spent the last week or so combing through the pictures we took and putting together another gallery. has put up some great shots from the convention that you should definitely check out. It was great to meet Dana and her entourage; they do good work.

If you stopped by the booth at Wizard World, don’t forget to find us on Facebook and tag yourself in the gallery.

Post Processing: High Pass Filter

Posted by on April 5, 2012

The high pass filter is a great way to give your images a little extra pop. The name might sound strange, but you’ve probably already seen it at work. Gatorade uses it a lot, or at least they used to, and it can help bring out the details in a costume and give it an edgy look. In this tutorial I’ll show you one way to create the effect.

FanExpo 2011 Gallery Now Online

Posted by on April 1, 2012

It only took seven months, but I’ve finally finished going through all the pictures from FanExpo 2011, and I’ve posted 100 of my favourites (in no particular order) in the galleries.

We took 6,766 photos over the course of the 4 day event, which breaks down to an average of 225 per hour, not accounting for any breaks. It was an exhausting couple of days, but we made some great photos. We’ve already booked our spot for 2012, so be sure to come back and visit us again.
